Dr. Teresa Chan - Speaker

Founding Dean, Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine

Dr. Teresa Chan is the Founding Dean of the Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine (Canada's 18th medical school) as well as TMU’s Vice-President, Medical Affairs, and still practices medicine at William Osler Health System. Dr. Chan’s contributions as a physician leader have transformed medical education.

She is a well- published researcher, impactful leader, and generous mentor. In 2024, Dr. Chan was named one of the top 10 most influential leaders in the Maclean's Power List for Health Care. In 2025, she was named in the WXN Top 100.

Dr. Cathy Risdon - Speaker

Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University

Dr. Cathy Risdon is Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University, where she leads one of Canada’s largest academic primary care departments. With over 30 years in clinical practice, education, and system leadership, her work focuses on building primary care as the “relationship infrastructure” of a high-functioning health system.

She is particularly interested in how emerging technologies, including AI, can strengthen trust, access, and continuity in care—especially for underserved populations. Dr. Risdon is co-leading a pan-provincial team to develop a Community Health Worker initiative that explores how locally embedded, tech-enabled supports can improve health outcomes for newcomer women and families navigating complex systems.

Her work bridges health, innovation, and equity, with a strong commitment to real-world impact.

Kimberly Hu Amadori - Moderator

Vice President, Investment Counsellor, Guardian Partners

Kimberly Hu Amadori is a Vice President, Investment Counsellor for Guardian Partners where her expertise is working with ultra-high-net-worth families and institutional clients. Her specialty is in addressing complex wealth management needs, including customized portfolio strategy design and implementation, investment manager recommendations and continuous portfolio oversight.

Previously, Kimberly served as Vice President, Investment Counsellor at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Advisory Services Inc. (BNY Mellon WMAS), a firm she joined in 2008 as an Investment Analyst. At BNY Mellon WMAS, she was also responsible for oversight and investment management of proprietary funds.

Kimberly received her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen’s University, is a CFA® Charterholder and a member of the Toronto CFA Society. Aside from academics, Kimberly serves as a Board Member and Chair of the Investment Committee of the Canadian Women’s Foundation. Additionally, she has been a major proponent of supporting the financial journey of women, through an initiative she co-founded in 2022 called Guardian WomenTM and was the recipient of Wealth Professional Canada's Top 50 Leading Women in Wealth award for 2023.

Dr Zayna Khayat - Keynote

Health Futurist & Chief Program Officer, AMS Healthcare

Dr. Zayna Khayat is Chief Program Officer with Canadian healthcare foundation AMS Healthcare, and serves as Adjunct Faculty and Executive in Residence with the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. In this role, she teaches across multiple programs including the Health Sector Strategy MBA stream, the Global Executive MBA in Healthcare and Life Sciences, and executive education programs focused on AI, partnerships, strategy, and foresight. She is also a member of the School’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Advisory Board and currently serves as Chair of the Board of Nourish, a national nonprofit focused on the intersection of food and medicine.

Zayna is also Health Futurist in Residence with Deloitte Canada’s healthcare and life sciences practice, where she advises individuals, organizations, companies, and governments on emerging trends shaping the future of healthcare. Throughout her career, Dr. Khayat has worked with and advised a wide range of technology companies and organizations, including Teladoc Health Canada and Quadrivia AI, helping them navigate innovation, strategy, and system transformation in an evolving healthcare landscape.

Dr. Ashley White - Speaker

Family Physician & Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, Founder, The Shift Clinic

Dr. Ashley White is a family physician, a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine, and the founder of The Shift Clinic — a membership-based metabolic health practice in Hamilton, Ontario that is redesigning how metabolic care is delivered.

Her career has spanned emergency medicine, global health service in Afghanistan during active conflict, and health policy work at the Public Health Agency of Canada. Each chapter deepened the same conviction: the systems meant to support people with chronic metabolic disease are failing them. She built The Shift Clinic to offer a different model — one that integrates medical treatment, medical psychotherapy, hormonal health support, and patient education within a single, continuous relationship.

Dr. Vivien Brown - Speaker

Family Physician & Author, Assistant Professor, University of Toronto

Dr. Vivien Brown is a family physician and author in Toronto. Educated at McGill University, she currently is appointed to the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Toronto, holding the rank of Assistant Professor. An award winner for teaching on many levels, her major interests are in the area of health promotion and prevention for women, and continuing medical education, Adult Immunization and Vaccine Preventable Illness.

The College of Family Physicians of Ontario named Dr Brown “Physician of the Year for the Region of Toronto”, awarded November 2012. Canada. She is the Past President of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada and is immediate past Vice President for North America for the Medical Women’s International Association. Recently she was named one of Canada’s most influential women by the organization Women of Influence, for her work on advocacy on HPV vaccine for Canadians.

Shann McGrail is a seasoned leader in the technology and innovation sector, with extensive experience spanning executive leadership, entrepreneurship, and advisory roles. She is best known for her time as CEO of Haltech Regional Innovation Centre, where she led initiatives supporting startups and scaling technology companies, mentoring hundreds of clients each year. Prior to this, she spent over 17 years in senior leadership roles at Microsoft Canada across sales, enterprise services, and education, building deep expertise in business strategy, digital transformation, and organizational growth.

Beyond her corporate leadership, McGrail is widely recognized for her commitment to fostering innovation and advancing women in business. She has founded and advised multiple initiatives focused on leadership development, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth, and continues to serve on boards and as an advisor across the innovation ecosystem. Brain Health Equity in Aging and Memory (BHEAM) Lab

Dr. Natasha Rajah is a distinguished cognitive neuroscientist known for her research on aging, memory, and brain function. Her work focuses on understanding how the brain changes over time, particularly in relation to memory performance and cognitive decline. Through advanced neuroimaging techniques, she has contributed valuable insights into how different regions of the brain support memory processes and how these systems are affected by aging and neurological conditions.

In addition to her research, Dr. Rajah is recognized for her contributions to academic leadership and mentorship. She has published extensively in leading scientific journals and has been involved in training the next generation of researchers in neuroscience and psychology. Her work not only advances scientific knowledge but also has important implications for improving cognitive health and developing interventions to support aging populations.
