Whether it’s your personal health or trends in the health and wellness sector, information is power. Last year women gathered at the inaugural Women. Health. Innovation Conference in Burlington, Ontario to hear about how the future of health care is changing as AI and technology create opportunities. Hearing from entrepreneurs and innovators, health experts and patients, this community of women made connections, created community and provided inspiration to all.

Our second event on May 8 at The Pearle Hotel promises to be even more exciting. Speakers and participants will explore solutions, foster collaboration and push advancements in the fields of women’s health, wellness and innovation.

Guiding The Conversation

To guide the conversation, Jocelyn Laidlaw is our emcee for the day. A trusted voice in the Canadian new landscape for over 30 years, she is also an advocate for colon cancer awareness, screening and early detection, sharing her journey publicly through social media and interviews across the country. Jocelyn became the National Ambassador for Colorectal Cancer Canada in 2024 and encourages Canadians to be strong advocates for their own health. She’ll bring her knowledge and personal insights to this amazing networking event.

Keynote Speaker

We also welcome back Dr. Zayna Khayat as our keynote speaker. A noted health futurist, she envisions potential healthy futures every day. As an Adjunct Professor, Health Sector Strategy, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and a Health Futurist in Residence in Deloitte Canada’s Life Sciences & Healthcare practice, she helps people and organizations explore and plan what comes next for healthcare, in a world of rapidly changing technology, and health and societal challenges. She’ll be highlighting the key developments in health care and AI, and the opportunities that these advances can create. You can get a preview of her thoughts here.

Health isn’t just about medical applications. The Women. Health. Innovation. conference will also expand focus beyond the strictly medical and look at the impact of financial health. Micha Choi, a Client Portfolio Manager for Guardian Capital Advisors (GCA) will talk about the importance of financial planning and education to help women build their financial awareness and resources. Micha manages portfolios for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, and private foundations and endowments. Micha leads efforts to expand GCA’s private client business and co-founded Guardian Women, an initiative aimed at serving female private clients, in 2021.

Emotional health and wellbeing, equality and ethics in health care, the future of menopause management and longevity are on the agenda too. These topics will be featured in a series of fireside chats. To keep everyone’s energy up throughout the date, there will also be an opportunity to explore exercises that support well-being and breathwork.

Entrepreneurs Making A Difference

Innovation is front and centre with four entrepreneurs who will share how they are making a difference in women’s health and what they think the future looks like with their solutions. There will be progress updates from last year attendees Gina Livy and Ellyn Winters-Robinson of Ask Ellyn and new to this year’s conference will be Ibukun Elebute of Cellect Laboratories and Amanda Bradley of MedWELLCV.

Brought to life through the work of Baljit Sidhu who developed the original and ongoing vision for the conference, Marieta Mendoza, and Shann McGrail, the Women. Health. Innovation Conference is a great opportunity to hear the latest trends and network with like-minded women. We thank Guardian Capital Private Wealth Guardian Capital Group for their sponsorship and appreciate the support of Burlington Economic Development and Tourism. We extend our thanks to additional sponsors and supporters: Nutrithrive Health Services, Farm Fairy Foundation, Devreve Inc., metaHR and The Sitaran Group.

Join a community of women for an impactful day of networking, insightful discussions and inspirational talks from a lineup of influential, trailblazing women. Hosted at the beautiful Pearle Hotel, located on Burlington’s waterfront, this event promises to be memorable.
